GV offers agriculturally-oriented investors a way to participate in farm land appreciation and production in other parts of the world which may enjoy globally comparative economic advantages relative to U.S. agriculture. Through a collaborative investment approach, GV offers a unique opportunity for accredited investors to pool their financial resources to acquire interests in larger assets that may offer greater economies of size and scale, while limiting the total outstanding risk exposure to individual investors. This approach offers a unique mechanism for investors to create investment diversity and future cash flows.
GV’s holdings are currently heavily centered in agricultural frontier regions of Brazil. The frontier nature of the business environment offers unique challenges as well as special opportunities. Among the primary challenges is the lack of institutional support for production agriculture and land development. However, GV also sees these institutional gaps as an opportunity to take a leadership and proactive role in the development of the region, thus securing a competitive advantage in diverse areas.
GV currently has cattle and is involved in soybean production. Fish licensing has progressed and will likely be an added profit center in GV’s activities. Taking a leadership role in the region, GV is researching logistical, financial and risk management solutions to offer local farmers as well as to address GV production needs. From an investment standpoint, GV also seeks to increase its liquidity by selling land to farmers in conjunction with the financing of inputs in order to secure better than cash prices for land.
